Christ Church Livingston County is committed to ministry in three directions: building up our covenant community, equipping families for faithful living, and serving the wider Livingston County community. Our ministries reflect the calling of the church to make disciples, raise the next generation in the faith, and bring the gospel into every corner of life.
We are preparing a complete list of ministries with leaders and contact information. In the meantime, the categories below give a sense of where we are working and how the church gathers and serves throughout the week.
Worship & Liturgy
The Lord’s Day service is the heart of our common life. Each week we gather for the regular elements of Reformed worship — the reading and preaching of Scripture, congregational psalmody and hymnody, prayer, and the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The work of worship belongs to the whole congregation, and the rhythms of the service shape the rest of the week.
Discipleship & Teaching
Christians grow by being taught. Our discipleship ministries include catechism for children and adults, Bible studies, men’s and women’s gatherings, and ongoing instruction in the historic Reformed confessions. The aim is not information for its own sake but a deepening fluency in Scripture and the gospel of Christ.
Families & Children
We are a family-integrated congregation. Children worship alongside their parents, learning the songs and prayers of the church by being among the people who sing and pray them. We work to support parents — especially fathers — in their calling to disciple their own households, and to be a community where covenant children are known and loved across generations.
Mercy & Community
The gospel sends the church outward. Through hospitality, neighborly service, and care for the poor and vulnerable in Howell and Livingston County, we work to bring the goodness of Christ into our community. Our deacons coordinate practical mercy within the congregation and beyond it, and our hope is that our church’s presence makes our neighbors’ lives better.
The wider church
Christ Church Livingston County is a member of the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC), and our ministry reaches beyond Howell through our participation in the wider Reformed church. We support partner congregations, denominational mission, and theological education — trusting that the gospel’s work is bigger than any one local body.
